Registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the MN Secretary of State

Started our first mentorship session, creating and facilitating six mentorships

June 2023 

Received a 1,000-dollar start-up grant from the Ann Bancroft Foundation

August 2023   

We finished our first mentorship session with six final projects.

September 2023  

Partnered with Rochester Public Schools to make Youth in Law mentorships an official honors-bearing credit course

September 2023

Created our student board

October 2023

Qualified for tax exemption status under the 501(c)(3) section.

Partnered with the Olmsted County Public Defenders Office

Began our second-semester session with two mentees

February 2024  

Received approval from the Mayo High School administration to host a Know Your Rights workshop

Opened our student board application

Opened our summer session applications

Hosted our first Court of Appeals observing session with 9 students

Held our first meeting with our new student board members

Started our second summer session mentorship program

Hosted shadowing days with the Public Defenders Office, County Attorney Office, City Attorney Office and Schatz Law Firm.

Created 10 tie-blankets for the Linus Project and donated over 11 bags of clothing and hygiene items for donation
